Rita Movsesian & Arca
de Noé - "Djelem,Djelem"
Објављено у 03.01.2014.
Roma-anthem "Djelem,
Djelem" combined with Andalusian Sevillanas (typical folk music and dance
of Seville). Original Composer: Petrovic Aleksandar / Text by Žarko Jovanović
and Šaban Bajramović.
We recorded this song last
summer in Seville together with another one: „Cajorije Sukarije". As you
can see, the photographs of our Turkish friend Kemal Vural Tarlan (Documentary
Photographer) are an impressive and meaningful addition to this song which is
since 1971 the anthem of the Gypsies all over the world.
The touching images and
the reports of Kemal Vural Tarlan about the current situation of the Syrian
refugees, within them the Gypsies, made me aware of the seriousness and
up-to-dateness of the song "Djelem, Djelem". This drove me to
dedicate our flamenco-version of this anthem to the Roma refugees as a sign of
solidarity.
