UN women’s rights experts issue findings on Canada,
Burundi, Bhutan, Belarus, Argentina, Switzerland, Honduras, Armenia,
Bangladesh, Estonia, and Netherlands
GENEVA (18 November 2016) – The UN Committee on the
Elimination of Discrimination against Women has published its findings on the
following countries which it examined during its 24 October to 18 November session in Geneva: Canada, Burundi, Bhutan, Belarus, Argentina,
Switzerland, Honduras, Armenia, Bangladesh, Estonia, and the Netherlands.
The findings cover how the respective State is doing with
regard to women’s rights, detailing positive developments, main areas of
concern, and recommendations for action.

The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination
against Women is composed of 23 international independent experts, who monitor
implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against
Women, ratified to date by 189 States.
The Committee will next meet from 13 February to 3 March
in Geneva to review El Salvador, Germany, Ireland, Jordan, Micronesia, Rwanda,
Sri Lanka, Ukraine. More details here:
